He smiles
It's so fake
I can feel it
He's in pain
Can I help?
No
He won't tell anyone
He's too quiet
It hurts him more
I feel this
I want him to be happy
But he still keeps a fake smile on
To reassure people
But it's not convincing me
He turns to me
And I see a flash of sadness
Come over him
I tell him
Shhh, It's okay
Be quiet
I promise,
It'll be okay
I haven't said this outloud
I ahd thought it
But he still seemed to understand
He nods and turns away and walks
I keep myself connected to him
As to make sure he's okay
Until he's gone
And I walk too
Shh, It's okay
