Quietus Poem by Tobbie WhiteBird Crowe

Quietus

Come pale prince, and be my one true friend.
Come walk by my side, take my hand.
Mirrored in your eyes, dark secrets lie,
Give me thy sleep of painless peace.

Come my pale prince, from thy dark abode.
Free me from this bonded earthly being.
Set my spirit wings to fly among the stars,
Lie rest this body weak, ill and cold.

Come pale prince, ride thy silent horse.
Put your long dark robe round about me.
Kiss me gently once with thy chill white lips.
Hold me close forever as we meet the dawn.

Come my pale prince, follow me not behind.
I long for thy touch, thy kiss, thy embrace.
Leave me not to fonder in this world alone
Set me free from this hurt, pain and woe.

Come pale prince, stay not my feeble reach.
To thy dark and silent tower I would go,
To enter in thy crystal door of no return
To find in muffled darkness, peace again.
