Rafi Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Rafi

Rafi

Took one wrench
-then other
-turned and turned
-to tighten
-screw in the bolt
-and grip, and the loop
-to fix my battery; under hood.

His efforts, of no use
-the cable remained loose!

He had to use brain
-went and came

In his palm
-held tiny screw…
-forced it in to the end
-comically made two heads.

And trick did work well
-a kind of invention
- (out of need!)

Displaced is indeed! ! !
-for ages;
-many years and decades…

Parents of parents of his parents
-left home and ran away
-in time of genocide
Van…
Van…
Van…
-had rivers of blood…
-thanks to the Ottomans
-now known as Turkey and Kurdistan.

On the run they settled in lands where
-soon became greatest test ground
-with Saddam and bombs of internal, external
-forcing them for re-run, poor deprived of all rights…
