Rain Poem by John M. Marshall

Rain

Rating: 5.0

Within the sun and cloud shaped halls
of ancient, sculptured windswept walls
you were waiting
for me to find you.

Among the nubile nymphs and fawns
wrapped in the raiment of vernal dawns
you were waiting
for me to see you;

and so I came like a child of night
into your eternal, ethereal light;
as you in silence and starry lace
illumined my path to humility.

Upon the mossy, marbled floor
where like rain you draped your hair
you were waiting
for me to touch you.

Beyond the dark and mystic door
where stark and cryptic dreams appear
you were waiting
for me to find you;

and so I came like a child of night
into your eternal, ethereal light;
as you in silence and simplest grace
illumined my path to serenity.

Absolutely love this poem, deep and insightful, and very well rhymed.

This really got to me: 'and so I came like a child of night into your eternal, ethereal light; ' You have a wonderful way with words and imagery. The only kink I see is overuse of adjectives, which almost makes the scene contrived. 'mossy, marbeled' is a bit much. However, I could see myself watching the entire scene with a bit of wonder. Well done.

Rain, the voice of the sky...The sweet life begin with small drops of raindrops and love when it fall and sounds like humming...serenity :) just the way you said here...The seeds crying happiness to release the root and shoots, the sand smiling for stop the thirstiness and rain is a blessing comes around for life bound :) _Unwritten SOul
