Rain
Let the rain reign down on this tired dirt
As the drops disperse into every pore
The water soothes my skin
Melts my aching heart
Devours this intimate moment
And keeps it as a piece of infinity
Trickles down my swollen flesh
Seeps into the roots of my hair
But I don't mind
As the natural humidity is replaced by our raw cries
And the fog in my brain is the fog surrounding us
My heart bleeds it's own tears
The sky sobs a tragedy
And the rain travels down the pavement
Grasping for more absorption
The emotions turned into the environment
As we said our goodbyes in the stormy parking lot
As authentic as ever
But we were the light in the dreary darkness
Filled with the conviction of hope
And the morning after was beautiful
