Rainbow Chaser Poem by Nell Sheridan

Rainbow Chaser

Rating: 5.0

Rainbow Chaser
The women you chase a color of your rainbow,

A blonde or brunette howdo you even know? ,

Each one a fleeting vision fading in time,

Each one was a puppet in your pantomime,

A womanizer yes you have unwittingly become,

Convinced that your entitled to more than just one,

Consumed with the plain and simple pursuit of self,

All those women sparkling upon your shelf,

Did you catch the ever elusive rainbow?

Not smart enough to see what other'splainly know,

Or were you chasing yourfools gold? ,

Colours of illusion you cannot possibly hold.

Did you find that you were desperately seeking? ,

A treasure hunter that is forevercompeting,

So chase your illustrious rainbow so determinedly,
Failing to love your self apparent by yourinfidelity.

Did you find the one colour invisible? ,

Always the rainbow chaser sadly habitual,

Did you find one that you will love essentially? ,

Or are you still convinced of all they hold potentially? ,

Did you discover your pot of imaginary gold? ,

All those colours and women yet your heart be cold,

Did you realise your eternally looking for the one? ,

Yet looking wrongly amongst those thus fallen,

Happiness a distant horizon that you cant reach,

Yet you views and thoughtshumorously you preach,

Completeness eludes you as you fail to see the person,

All your rainbow women a moment you have stolen,

You cannot respect others with no self-respect,

Yet wise words you always manage to deflect,

So chase your illustrious rainbow so determinedly,
Failing to love your self apparent by yourinfidelity.

I shall leave you as I find you no changes will be made,
I am sure you have your reasons for this womanising facade,
I wish you every happiness in all that you do,
The only person with a right to change is apparently you.

He will never get to the end of the rainbow - always reaching for that pot of gold one can never get. A 10.
