Rainbow Ribbon Poem by Deborah Ann Baker

Rainbow Ribbon

I, like an iridescent rainbow ribbon
flow through a sea of swirling darkness.
A big bang occurs, flashing lightning,
stars move outward with infinite potential.
Do I dare? Yes,
Moving through the chaos
toward a light a loop in time.
Flowing through you around you and caressing you.
Knowing you, being you -- such an experience!
You ask me to pause and form a knot;
Oh, the splendor of a moment in time.
As a traveler,
to pause would be
devastating and most limited.
Allow me to dance through you
and be you.
Tying a knot is for naught.
