Read Away Poem by George otto Becker

Read Away

Until the days of evening flower
Began the morn' with words of power
Beset by trickery whose men did cower
Strong rays of shine came to me
As I viewed that enemy
Unknown to me
Cursing the grass and the tree
Using the bounties of knowledge was me
Touching life with my words and deeds
Confusing all my enemies
Writing art and calling it poetry
Twisting my toungue to please thee.
Hidden dreams exist right here
Inside your heart my verses peer
Read away and have no fear
