Real Tv

Welcome to the Good News Channel
Let me introduce our illustrious panel
There’s smiling Betty your happy host
To bring you the best from coast to coast

The world reports come from cheerful Jim
Gosh we wish there were more like him
He’ll share with you through line and verse
Only the finest of our universe

To his left sits the lovely Heather
She’s here to give you the daily weather
Only sunshine and blue skies in her forecast
Here to assure you if there are clouds they’ll pass

Our sports announcer is the handsome Bob
This is his first week at his new job
You’ll like his style although a beginner
Every games the same your teams the winner

Lastly there’s Tom our social commentator
He’ll give his opinions a little bit later
Charming and witty and somewhat beguiling
When he’s through your sure to be smiling

But first we must pause for a short break
Without commercials there’s no money to make
From what you should eat to where you should go
This is how we will fund our show

Please excuse the corporate intrusion
But without it there’d be global confusion
Madison Avenue knows just what you need
It’s all apart of our universal greed

OK we’re back with our top story
There’s nothing tragic bloody or gory
Our field staff took forever to find this
A wonderful show of compassion and kindness

13 kittens were rescued from trees
They’ve found the cure for every disease
A young boy helped an elder cross the street
We’ve discovered an endless supply of food to eat

This just in all the fighting has stopped
Leaders have said no more bombs to be dropped
As of today there’ll be no more madness
All of our lives will be void of sadness

Nielsen just called our ratings are zeroes
No one is interested in societal heroes
Remotes are in hand across the nation
Searching for tragedy on another station

Our numbers have dropped we’ve lost market share
It appears as if there isn’t a soul who’ll care
So long Betty and Jim goodbye Heather and Bob
Tom’s last word is you’ve all lost your job
