Recalling The Years Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Recalling The Years

Past days filled with gaiety
of the purest kind...
captured in glorious colour
indelible on my mind.

Recalling many years of love
blissful, warm and true,
family unit uppermost
everyone smiling through.

But that was the beginning
the end was beyond our view
heaven had much more in store
with a darker kind of hue.

Reviewing recent sorrow,
unlike long years ago...
death of husband and of son
encourages tears to flow.

As I study photos on the wall
I reminisce, and find
sad memories of days of yore
indelible on my mind.
