Red Smile Poem by Rebecca Adams

Red Smile

A burning flame,
Threw the truck off,
its course,
The metal pipes,
smooth around,
sharp ends,
Came flying at us,

Our little car had no chance,
as I sat in the passenger seat.
You were driving,
And saw the flame,
Saw the pipe flying to me,
like a magnet it was straight,
on its course to my heart,
I heard the snap,
the sound of your release,

And you were there,
To take my place,
I gave up,
I was ready,
with you my love,
Next to me,

You looked down,
told me not to cry,
Your smile red,
As you saved my life.
