Reflections Poem by Prabhakar Subramaniam

Reflections

The mirror has its bad days
It doesn't want to remember,
The good days it wants more of
When it has been praised
For being there when things
Came together on their own
The crestfallen moments
It doesn't want replayed
When it knows it has been played
For ends not mindful of means ----
It is the mother
Envious of the child
The past looking at the present
Time looking at itself
Sometimes wishing it would stop
Sometimes wishing it would not.
