Reflections Of Reality Poem by Bridgid Patrick

Reflections Of Reality

Rating: 3.5

When I see you
You're never smiling.
Talking to you
I can tell you're lying.

Call me crazy,
I call you lazy.

No change with you,
Still stuck in that pit.
Unable to move on
You'd rather smell your own s##t.

Look at me.
I'm talking to you.

I tell you to let go
Grip gets even tighter.
With all that's happened
You're no longer a fighter.

Quit sitting quit waiting for a sign
You know better, it's all in your mind.

Remember who you are,
Accept that this is life.
Nothing is ever promised,
Realize you have to try.

It hurts I know
But that's what happens when you take a blow.

Stop lying.
Stop denying.
Relief will come when you start crying.

It's said we know when we've had enough,
Today is that day.

Dust yourself off
And put the mirror away.

Sound psychological advice, Brigid. I hope the subject takes it to heart. We can so easily become entranced by our suffering and it's just another form of vanity. Good write. All the best, Hugh
