Regal Wings Poem by Belquis Barés

Regal Wings

Rating: 5.0

Nothing is impossible in love,
Only to forget what is forbidden us.
How to ignore the call of love
If the meeting cries from the soul?

There is no escape from the lover,
Because the desire is so deeply enthroned;
It is necessary to tear the heart out to extract it:
And so life escapes from us.

Perhaps there is no major fear of another world,
Where maybe we still remember,
And continue loving in mute suffering,
Neither able to touch nor to speak on having been dead.

Do not refuse love! Do not escape!
It is futile to hide in disguises.
Leave it be and give him wings -
Inundate yourself in his gaze.
