Regrets Of A Lovelorn Man Poem by Francis Duggan

Regrets Of A Lovelorn Man

Rating: 5.0

Maiden come and linger for awhile
And make me happy with your lovely smile
Each time per chance we meet it bring me joy
But loneliness return with each good bye.

It would seem that you've no place for me in future plan
You've fallen in love with another man
And I am told that your new chosen one
Is a handsome looking business magnate's son.

There was a time when you loved only me
But now our love is just a memory
You forsook me left me with aching heart,
Hurted my feelings and hurted feelings smart.

Maiden with the sheeny raven hair
Of your beauty you have grown aware
And like most pretty women you've got big ideas
You're not a very easy one to please.

Maiden with the lovely eyes of brown
The most attractive looking maid in town
The reason you forsook me I am sure
Is for the fact that I happen to be poor.
