Locked and lost in past events
That drag me through the mire
most of which make little sense
To quench the inner fire

These passageways within my mind
That twist and turn throughout
Seek response within my soul
They want to scream and shout

That dark place deep inside me
Can only struggle for the light
Kept shackled to emotions
Now well hidden from others sight

No doubt one day I'll find that peace
The solice that I seek
Untill that time, I'll sip sweet wine
And drift away in sleep.

Sweet wine or crown and cola will always help things drift away. But a good man always survives life's rocky path. Good write. Patricia
