Relieve Me Of My Load

Alone and lost so many years
Disillusioned of love
Hoping to dry my bitter tears
I searched for truth above

I’d sought it here I’d sought it there
At home and foreign shore
But all the love man had to share
Just left me seeking more

One day I heard of Jesus Christ
The Son of God on high
Who through His love was sacrificed
That I may never die

Front to back I read The Book
I sought The Truth in prayer
Then nowhere else I had to look
For suddenly Your there

To plant Your servant in The Vine
I come as flesh and bone
Lord let Your will correct now mine
Make soft my heart of stone

Little I care of how I feel
Before I start my day
I pray my God that You reveal
Your perfect will and way

I pray in me You’ll now fulfil
Your Promise set before
And if I come against Your will
Please close that foolish door

I’ve seen the truth of Satan’s path
The liar’s tempting road
Let Jesus save me from Your wrath
Relieve me of my load
