Remember

do you remember
the first time we met
do you remember
the way you used to look at me
do you remember
our first date
do you remember
the first time we kissed
do you remember
the first time you said 'I love you'
do you remember
always and forever
do you remember
you said you will always be there

I remember
the first time I met you
I remember
the first time I looked into your eyes
I remember
our first date to dinner and a movie
I remember
the first time I kissed your lips
I remember
the first time I said 'I love you'
but I also remember
when you said you would never lie to me
I remember
when you said you would never cheat
but most of all I remember
the day you stabbed me in the back

I

I AM not One who much or oft delight
To season my fireside with personal talk.--
Of friends, who live within an easy walk,
Or neighbours, daily, weekly, in my sight:
