Remembering 9-11-01 Poem by Linda Engwall

Remembering 9-11-01

Rating: 5.0

A moment of silence please
For a day that will never be forgotten
Witness to an American tragedy

So many lives lost
All for what
Power
Anger
Religion
Land

Wars
Guns
Bombs
Planes crashing
Out there to shatter human lives

To live a life to destroy others
Why because they don’t
Think like you
Look like you
Have the same religious beliefs

There is no lesson we can learn
From this tragic loss of so many lives
We aren’t meant to make peace with it
And no sense can be made from it

All we can do is take that moment of silence today
Remember those people who woke up just like you did today
Never knowing that it would turn out to be their last day
Pray for them, pray for us all and
Look around and be thankful that we have today
