Remembering With Thanks Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Remembering With Thanks

Britain has no more 'lend-lease' to repay
The Roosevelt scheme; the American way.
From world war two, we have been in debt
But all has been settled, without regret.

When first I heard of the 'colosall' amount
I realised what kindness is all about...
That friendly deed we remember yet
And it's onward now, for the scene is set.
