Remembering You Poem by Jacky Fernandez

Remembering You

Even though we’re not together anymore,
every part of my life reminds me of you.
When the wind blows, it’s like the feeling of your breath going through my face. The sound of the birds singing there like
the sound of your voice. When the heat of the sun touches me it reminds me of the heat we share between each one of us.
At night, when I feel the silk of my sheets, they feel like the texture of your skin. The sweetness of your lips are like the feeling
of berries twisting around my mouth. Every time I look up and see the stars, they are like the shine of your eyes. But even though we are not with one another, what keeps me from still loving you are the little things that you brought into my world.
