Reminiscing School Life Poem by Sneha Murali

Reminiscing School Life

Ribbons on both sides,
I remember well.
How mom got me ready for school.
The smell of leather shoes, and
weird hairdos, I remember it all.
Brown paper covered giant text books
and bazooka bearing teacher's grin.
I remember concrete walls a shade of blue,
and crummy assignment papers make-do.
All was well, my sanctuary,
having fun up until January,
when the icy cold reality of exams hit us.
But school was well, all was well,
until I got dragged out into hell.
Exposed to every kind of personality,
Brawny, brainy, bubbly nark,
cheeky, sneaky and much to remark.
A jungle of forests, an ocean of seas,
My oh my, hell was there waiting for me.
But a new life meant a new beginning,
to learn, to grow, everything wasn't just about winning.
I wasn't at school anymore,
I had to move on and close that open door.
