Remnant From A Parted Sky Poem by R B Seals

Remnant From A Parted Sky

Rating: 4.0

For you...the dream is shattered,
No thoughts of new romance;
Your faith and trust withheld,
Entrenched in guarded stance.

Inside, lasting visions; the awful
Abuse that 'companied each year,
The amassed apprehensions, the
Searing epithets you still can hear.

Response secluding, immobilizing,
A will unwilling to engage;
Found therein: sequestered spirit,
Confined to self-restricting cage.

Fear holds the key that locks
You away inside your heart,
A mechanism employed to keep
You adrift, alone and apart.
