Repentance Poem by Andrea Ugona

Repentance

You never gave up on me,
I gave up on you,
You never looked down on me,
I looked down on you.

You kept calling me,
I closed my ears,
You stood by me when I screamed at you!

But you have me, in your hands,
Even when I wiggled and squirmed away,
But at this point,
My ears are open,
I am still and I am waiting.

I am hoping and I am searching,
I am trying and I am wanting,
My best is not my limit but it is my limit,
Please, Father, Hero, but most of importantly, friend.

At this point I need your help.
Perfection is my downfall,
Sin is my death,
Honesty is my pretence.

Come back and help me because with you,
I know where I am.
I will be the head
