Respect To Them Or Their Words Poem by Francis Duggan

Respect To Them Or Their Words

Respect to them or their words I never do pay
The few who have told me to give rhyming away
I barely could bid them the time of the day
Unkind things of anyone does seem wrong to say.

For putting others down in words some like to be known
One wonders of their sort have they lives of their own
To their higher selves such people cannot be true
Suppose the Karma we reap in life we are due.

Those who get their kicks out of putting others down
Do never become the best liked in the town
The meaning of etiquette they seem to miss
But then to their kind suppose ignorance is bliss.

I love penning stuff of that why should I lie
And I'll only quit rhyming on the day that I die
And those who tell me to give writing away
Respect to them or their words I cannot pay.
