Responsibility Poem by Lauren Coles

Responsibility

People usually are glad to get out of the house when they're are 18,
But 18 is just a number,
18 should teach people what real freedom is like,
People might make silly mistakes at 18,
People might try to make you drink and drive,
Drinking plays games with the mind,
When you were a young kid you would have to worry about how you would pay the bills,
Kids would learn not to be pregnant in high school,
People want to go out on a Friday night but motherhood is calling,
Being responsible is staying on the crime scene to help police,
It helps that if you see something that you don't stay in the closet,
Responsibility is finding a positive way to solve problems before they turn tragic,
People want to help you just have to be in the right place at the right time.
