I know you're wondering
What's on my mind
When I decided to write this down

I was just pondering
About all the good times
We had when you were around

You would talk to me
About kids who felt alone
And their world that's falling apart

There's one thing I see
These kids have a home
Right here inside your heart

Yes you are retiring
From the system that you fought
You are the tool that jumpstarts a kids mind

You were also inspiring
With the things that you taught
You were pleasant, thoughtful, and kind

So go ahead and enjoy
You've done your job
Retirement is just around the bend

Bye yourself a new toy
Get away from the mob
Treasure Island is daring you to win

So as you leave us
Just remember in your heart
You will always always be missed

I won't make a fuss
As my tears begin to start
I will end this with a hug and a kiss
