Retribution Poem by Darren Harris

Retribution

What do you see when you look at me?
Do you see what I see?
Well do you?
Fucking answer me,
Do you see what I see?
Do you see me or am I just an illusion?
Somebody brain dead and full of confusion,
Do you see the tears of blood that fall like rain?
From a slashed wrist from somebody wreaked by pain,
Do you see the fear of darkness in my eyes?
Brought on by the voices that hypnotise,
Do you hear the silent screams I cry?
From within a clouded mind that can mystify,
Do you see me reaching out for my sanity?
Or are you full of illusions of your own vanity?
Do you see the suffering born from been abused?
Or do my antics just keep you amused?
Well are you going to tell me what you see?
They say honesty is the best policy,
Don’t stand there been absurd,
Tell the truth, let it be heard,
You don’t see anything do you? You’re too blind to see,
Hiding there behind your own anonymity,
Behind your confusion, behind your disillusions,
But death will bring me my retribution.
