Revelation Poem by Jack Turner

Revelation

He breaks his back slaving over
Lager laced with
never mind
Mind nothing, mindless, mind your step
Oblivion is not an empty place
and he dissolves slowly
into the fire that melts each frozen heart
An empty hell
Where the demons hide behind their Apathy
and Listless devils fill your cup of poison;
Drink!
He drowns again
but deeper now this time and
sorrow is a foreign word and none could comprehend
the depth of every pint and glass,
the breadth of every shot
the miles and miles until the end
the years that waste away with every gin
Every mouthful wasted on the words,
the useless words of language
No translator can tell the honest truth of whiskey;
and drink!
Tonight, tomorrow, there will never be
A thing more worthless now than me
And Jesus turned the water into wine
and all were happy;
another bottle then, good Sir!
The Road to Hell
is paved in Revelations.

It's the attitude of drinking for drunkedness or a couple. PLUS, celebration of festival, a marriage was intoned in the attitude. [ I like my wine to kickback ]
