Right Or Wrong, Noise Or A Melodious Song Poem by Slim Jay

Right Or Wrong, Noise Or A Melodious Song

You ask me to lower my gaze
Yet you wear that which entices me
You ask me to be modest
Yet you do that which provokes me
You always say you are a
peacemaker
Yet your delight rests in raising
arguments
You tell me to be prayerful in
moments of sadness and distress
Yet wordly music seems to be what
you digest in moments when you
are down and stressed
You tell me to be grateful to my
Lord
By helping the poor and needy
To gain proximity and to
strengthen the bond
Yet your gratitude I have noticed
Lies in shunning the destitute
And mingling with the rich and
wealthy
You always preach virtue and
practice vice
You smile with me yet you tell me
lies
You feign likeness and love
Yet slander me, and backbite
Without hesitating for a moment
Without twitching an eye
Every deed is being recorded
And precious time is being wasted
Scholars have been insulted
And the poor and lowly ones,
disregarded
Everyone is now a scholar
Everyone has now become a leader
If we share the same view
Our friendship begins, never to end
If you object to my views even if
I'm wrong
Then you become my enemy
When did we arrive at this
destination?
Have we forgotten the history of
our nation?
Our pious predecessors, our noble
scholars
Our Great men and women of old
The examplary lives they led
Are precious than silver and gold
It's about time we turned back
It's about time we opened their
books
And searched, and read, learned,
and practiced
All the books are knowledge and
wisdom
Have been written, have been
passed on
And are here with us today
Yet we are too busy engaged in
things
Of little or no benefit
What legacy are we leaving behind
for the future generation?
I know right, and so do you
You know the right thing so why
ignore?
You blindly follow without seeking
knowledge
And the little you acquired is
enough to show off....to the whole
world
You claim to seek the path of
righteousness
Yet when you are directed
You argue and debate, you forge
and create
And hope to have a point or two
And some friends to support,
And to help you substantiate
I'm thinking out loud, I'm not
being proud
I'm guilty and so are you
Even though you may agree to all
I've said
You still want reasons to try and
object
Change is a continuous process
It always begins with a step
Once you have a strong conviction
In your heart for positive change
And a little prayer to the Almighty
Above
In His time, by His will and His
loving Grace
He promises to, and would accept
sincere repentance from the
sinners
And turn towards them with full
embrace
A step at time is better than
standing in your place, if you wish
to be successful before it's too
late.
May His NAME be praised, THE
GREATEST, FULL OF MERCY AND GRACE
