Riot Van Poem by Anthony J. O.

Riot Van

Rating: 5.0

The wind holds distant souvenirs
As echoes travel through the night.
The rocks laid down their masks of fear
And rest tormented and in plight.

The riot van has done its deed,
The villains they are all abducted.
Our benefactors paid good heed
And did just as they were instructed.

But what has left its mark today?
What cannot vanish with the breeze?
What can we say is there to stay
Amidst the frightful memories?

It’s the idea behind the name,
The flower that was trampled on,
The fear, the anguish, hate and pain.
They hide in scars but not for long.
