Rise Up. Poem by Aneez Mohamed

Rise Up.

Memories ticked away as an endless war
Battling words echoes at the ears
Creeping pain floods out of eyes
How could I rest in Peace? As my mind ravaged
Thine or mine, the wins and losses
But what remains is
A bleeding heart and a shattered soul.

I would pare each bits of my flesh, If
It could equals your pain
I would peel off my whole skin, If
It could heal your wounds
And would vanish to sky and rest forever
If I see a smile of yours.

As I scribble my last words of an abandon memories with shivering hands
A sparrow sings from meadows far elsewhere
Some where a horizon raises, a ray of hope illumes the blacken dreams
A stream of love from an unknown oasis flows to the barren soul.
Is it a call to glory, call to life and a new beginning?
