Risk Your Life Poem by Belle Violet

Risk Your Life

I'm scared to sell my house
to gain even
an ounce.
To let my
defenses down.
I know he wants me here.
And then sometimes, I wonder,
if I'm kidding myself there.
I've been packing and purging
working and urging
myself to understand
just
breathe.
You can
take care of his needs.
Yes, he's quiet and mute,
and tough as work boots
but you know a side of him
his friends don't know.
Don't ask Greg If it'll be ok.
he doesn't know what you know.
You've held Kurt tight
and made his eyes glow.
He loves you,
stupid,
he's willing
to do this.
Just
breathe.
This won't be as scary
as you think it could be.
He will always keep giving his heart.
And why keep that house if you're always so far?
Say goodbye to that place
turn it over
walk away.
Go risk your life
for a guy worth every day.
You love cooking and caring for him.
Pushing him to bare himself thin.
And he does it because he loves you,
you fool.
He loves you more
than money and tools.
He's proved he isn't like the others.
That he's not just some cold,
calculating monster.
He's a brick wall with a secret door
only you have
the key for
and he's showing you
in his own quiet way;
It's ok
to fall.
It's ok to risk it all.
It's safe in
his arms
