From the owner of the River Café
When I think of the Cafe by the river;
The excitement makes me shake and then quiver;
When I step on the deck
I Catch sight of a wreck
Then I realise it’s me in the mirror.
I enjoy ‘front of house’ with the guests;
They’re all so delightful, not repressed;
Tho’ when I stagger, not walk;
Start the rubbish I talk:
It’s a wonder I don’t face arrest.
Ahhh, but to sit and watch the sun set;
And describe the feelings that I get;
Of fulfilment and pleasure;
From this bizarre place of leisure;
Despite my struggle, I feel no regret.
