Rosalie Poem by Jinny Lee

Rosalie

Rating: 4.5

Decaying flesh rots with a deep stench.
As I walk along this dirt terrain, I see tombs, I see the dead!
Everywhere I look, blank dark eyes bore into my beating chest.
As if wanting to tear my heart right out of my chest!
I see a little girl, I call to her, she does not answer.
I call to her again, she just stares.
Her expression shows sadness, loneliness, makes me want to console her.
Make her happy once again, as a little girl should be.
Her skin as pale as the glistening moon, and cold as ice.
Her innocent, rosy, childlike features turned to dust.
What lay before me was dirt under my feet.
Oh, where is my girl?
Where has she gone?
As I weep before her tomb, I weep before my child.
My angel, my darling, lost!
Return to mother again.
Return, my dear Rosalie.
