Rough Boy Poem by Jena Colvin

Rough Boy

'If you give me one more minute I'll be feeling fine...'
Why does she cry?
I simply told her the truth in how I felt.
My desire, my love, devotion...
That she was my true and deepest weakness and stregnth that was real.

She begins to sob.

All I did was sing a song Don't girls like romance?
Don't they value honesty?

She puts her head in her hands.

'What the Hell is your problem? '

I have nofear in my voice.
I want to show her that if she doesn't except me,
then I don't need her.
I'm free, and I surely don't need a girlk to tie me down.

She jumps up and lands in my arms..

And for some reason, I feel lighter than ever.
