Running

Always running
Mommy never telling me where we are going
Where’s daddy I asked
More crying is all I get
Wondering why mommy is all covered in bruises
I ask but she never tells
Till the day daddy kicked down our door
I hide not knowing what to do
I hear mommy telling me to run
So I run, and run, and run
Till I find the cop man patrolling
We run back, me and him
Now I am finished running
Mommy said for no more running

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
