It is when my footprints entrapped on earth
I realised it is Sabarmathi rolled
on me as a tranquil river of solace
and the heartfelt cries of Sindhu long heard
for the ashes of one *great soul
withered as a dream
It is when the tears of Sabarmathi dried
they played a tune of love on the strings
and the strings tangled and broke
on the medley as it was too rigid
for the strings to capture
and from the broken strings
Sabarmathi emerged as a lone
river of endurance.....
* Gandhiji wanted his ashes to be immersed in Sindhu in undivided India.
