Sacred Space [rev] Poem by Margaret Alice Second

Sacred Space [rev]

Do you know what it's like when it rains after a
drought? That joy of silver rain sifting down, a
feeling of green trees and leaves glowing from
within; do you know what that scenario brings,
do you know how its sprinkling fills my heart?

Even my beloved; furious, frustrated, angry &
strong has been won over, and my kids being
insouciant expressed their relief - dad's calm
again, we can breathe; my daughter's leaving
for a photographer's job on a ship at sea near

The American continent, how can I be calm &
have dreams on the beauty of understanding,
common sense and quiet inner deliberation -
the confabulation of my situation makes me
lose threads of this Plot - I'm an undercover

Poet with too much emotion, when I try harder
to be perfect, everything goes awry; I can't go
to sleep - staying awake to encourage the rain,
this lovely cool weather needs lots of support
to continue - peace in my sacred inner space
