Sacrificed In The Doing Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sacrificed In The Doing

What I have to give and offer,
Is done and comes from my heart.
And seldom do I become offended,
By shallow comments made.

That you wish to compare my offerings,
To your contributions...
Says a lot about how genuine you claim to be!
And what pre-meditated thoughts you crop that start.

Giving with the expectation to receive,
Is a selfish deed.
No matter what is stated,
To have been sacrificed in the doing.
