Sacrifices And Decisions Poem by Darrell DeFord

Sacrifices And Decisions

Rating: 3.5

Life is so precious and delicate
Someday, we will all meet our fate
Our time on earth is so very short
We can spend our time, by taking and being in court
Always pointing a finger and blaming
Or, we can spend it choosing and gaining

I believe we have a certain amount of days and nights
Will you spend yours arguing, and partaking in fights
Will you get caught up in Satans lies
Or will you work to be helpful, loving and wise

I wonder still, if you'll make the right choice
Friend, happiness is not owning a Rolls Royce
Happiness comes by, caring and loving your friends and foes
It's forgiving those, who may have stepped on your toes

Honoring any other we can not afford
There is only one, that is our Lord
He gave his only Son
So our sins, could be undone

Think for a moment how he must have felt
Giving his Son, for the cards you were dealt
Allowing him to suffer, die and beat all odds
Just to be forgotten and confused, with other false Gods

At times it's hard to be considerate and kind
Time will tell who's in control of your mind
When it's time for you to make that decision
If the Lords not included, I would raise all suspicion

Look unto the Lord, if you are truthfully unsure
He will keep your mind healthy, clean and pure
I don't claim, to be better than others
But I have learned to listen, to my forefathers

Stop trying to keep up to this lifes pace
With the Lord, you've already won the race
It is a choice you can make, that only you choose
For those who don't, will surely lose

Come home today and be protected in his light
Not like Satan who says, ' someday I might'
Sometimes, somedays never come, I know I've said it before
Once it is locked you'll never open faiths door

Tomorrow may be too late
Before then, we may meet our fate
Confess all your sins and join Jesus today
For if you don't it may cost, more than you can pay

Just for the asking, he will always be there
Mean it with your heart, and bow your head
Confess with your words, the Sinners Prayer
