Sad The Trashing Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sad The Trashing

Sad is the trashing.
Of what could have been.
With determination to be.
But always interferring,
Is an onslaught of envy.
Accompanied by insecure jealousies.
And this activity is not rare.
The performance of it,
Appears throughout history.
With first lies to tell.
To those deceived to believe.
Someone lives a life better,
Than those who deserved but do not receive...
What is theirs regardless.
Of who does what to do to achieve.
Sweating in fields and on their knees,
Unseen.
There will always be,
Those sitting on their butts.
Disqualifying another,
Who has dug themselves out of trenches.
To not give up.
Just to hear how lucky they are,
To have been given the opportunity to suffer.
