These days can make a person feel so weary and so depressed
The years and years go by
As you try and find
A semblance of happiness
There is an ebbing sadness
An impending sense of loneliness
This generation can make you feel so angry and so distressed
Lives are broken
Carried on our shoulders
Words we left unsaid
We just can’t seem to care
So hard to accept all of this
These times can make you feel so wrong and there is a tiredness
Love grows cold as ice
People are so self obsessed
They just don’t believe in death
But I will write of your faithfulness
You have brought me through all of this
Your love and peace
your thoughts
your everlasting arms of grace
This generation never keeps its promises
Friends are hard to find
And there is such brokenness
Words we cannot find
We try and hide
we try and cross the bridge
In a sea of restlessness
Sometimes it seems this world just go’s so crazy
And completely out of control
London’s burning
And all the money
And the fight over our souls
And all the starving homeless
Heroin eyed hopelessness
Blood drips from cross clenched fists
But I will sing a song of your faithfulness
You have brought me through all of this
Your love and peace
And life essence
This world can break you just when you’re at your best
The Years and years we spend our lives
To try and find A place of rest
A voice cries out In the wilderness
emotions grow cold
And we don’t know how
To grow old with grace
Time can be so hard and so relentless
It can take away the people
That are closest to us
A longing for a selfless tenderness
Arms around you and a harmless kiss
Eldritch moods can take you to a dark recess
The wars rage on and on
the struggle To continue
And the weariness
These days you become so sick of sensational headlines
another teenager contemplates suicide
Another policeman takes his life
Traveled so many miles
So many tears he has cried
For all of the crime
But I will sing a song of your faithfulness
You have brought me through all of this
Your love and peace
Your thoughts
And everlasting arms of grace
