Don’t let it consume me
Become me
Soothe me.
Don’t let it take me over
But it feels so safe.
Safer than the world
I listen to it
Let it dull my pains
Numb me
Let go of everything
Let the music overcome me
It feels so safe.
The music is my haven,
Lose myself in
Someone else’s struggles and pain.
It’s so much easier that way
Than to acknowledge my own
Tell it to go away
Don’t want it there
But it feels so safe.
