Sail Poem by Varala Anand

Sail

Village without a pond
Is just like,
Hairless head and
Heartless body

Village that loses the pond
Remains as
Soulless bonding
Source less well
Warmth less heart
Lifeless tree
Hence, for a village
Pond is a lifeline
….
Gossips and chit-chats
Of every evening
Pond, a meeting hall
A platform of discussions

Pebble strewn ripples
On the surface of the pond,
Are the breezes of dreams
That beckon love.

Our village
Has no railway track
Has no beautiful park
Pond is the rendezvous.
Water is the reward.
Pond breaks loneliness
Like a sail.
