Salute! Aung San Suu Kyi Poem by Vadakkumpurath Ramesan

Salute! Aung San Suu Kyi

The breeze from bay of Bengal
The singing river Iravathy
Never soothed her
Nor did she listened to the roar
Of the Indian ocean
Turbulent over the distress
And slavery of the Burmese
Where the brave father Aung San
Whom the generals executed
And the daughter incarcerded
Like a bird in a cage
Devoid of the freedom of air
The freedom to sing and fly.
Her mother country was fearful
Her remains huge and green
But the generations devastated
The mountains remain feeble
And the birds and animals even helpless
The scenic landscape crumbled to dust
By the hail of bullets and bombs
And her children hungry and weeping
But the languished bird
Inspired the mother Myanmar and children
With her screams around
And the children braving bullets
The olive green thick cavalry
Pointing the barrel of the gun
To the hearts of chained masses.
The fake trial continued
To continue the cavalry rule
Against the frail old lady
The brave soldier and leader
Hailed by the world over
Aung San Suu Kyi!
The fire of Burmese
The caged bird's rampage
That take away
The nature's balm
From the dictator!
Made him sleepless and thrashed!
The fate with its
Harpoons and seins
Will trap the dictator
As it was destined
That he will befall
As time ripens!
