Salvation Poem by Richard Ansell

Salvation

Rating: 3.1

You are the setting sun in Autumn,
The orange flame of seas afire,
You are my morning’s waking thought,
The depths I swim in night’s desire.

You are my daily Heaven’s bread,
The open rose I press to keep,
You are my very breath of life,
The salve I use to bring me sleep.

You are the truth that saves my soul,
The haven where I make my nest,
You are my nectar should I thirst,
The balm that comforts my unrest.

You are the last place I shall lie,
The firelight’s glow of crystal wine,
You are my words, my explanation,
The paths of life which intertwine.

You are the taste upon my tongue,
The place wherein I find creation,
You are my life, and all it means,
The faith in which I seek salvation.
