Samhaintide Poem by Leanne Jarrin

Samhaintide

Rating: 3.5

The Banshee
Strides into sight
Her shrieking howls
Fill the heart with fright
The Dead and demons
Abroad, this night
Wander the world
A carnal blight

The Witch's Ghost
Dame of the Rite
Astride her broom
In enchanted flight
Calls forth the Fey
Of primal might
To trick and treat
In the pale moonlight

Pray, what is the meaning of the title? 'A carnal blight' - is a wonderful expression! Loved it.
