Sandy (Haiku) Poem by Melody Jaske

Sandy (Haiku)

She rampaged Ashore
No regard; neutralizing,
Dry Your tears with hope.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I like concise stories so I wrote this about Hurricane Sandy. I live in the Highlands, NJ. Fortunately, I live in a high spot and did not have any flooding or damage, but the people below me did not fare so well. More than 50% of the homes have been gutted due to the flooding. It is still uncertain if they will rebuild. It is unfathomable to my senses when I drive down there 3 weeks after the storm and there is still piles and piles of rubble on the curbs. A municipal parking lot is being used as a dumping ground as well. It is truly a crisis never seen on the East Coast.
