Saul’s Armour

Not in armour offered by Saul
Regal, ornate, robust
Even with back against the wall
David, in God would trust

Too cumbersome, heavy and large
His God would no one see
Know He alone would be in charge
Keeping Israel free

David was humble, faithful strong
Heaven; praise to bring
He’d glorify God; he’d sing love’s song
About life’s future King

In spirit in truth he’d seen Him
His life he would invest
Before his weary eyes grew dim
David had done his best

Are you and I, today prepared?
To take salvation’s hand
Knowing what devils have declared
Trust still, by faith to stand

Will God in Heaven, stand us by?
Will Jesus blood suffice?
Or grace, demand before we die?
A greater sacrifice

Knowing The Father as I do
Jesus, His Christ His Son
Love’s Promise sustains daily new
Until life’s victory’s won

With so much love before you
Behind, life’s saving grace
What can the devil’s hordes do?
From seeing Jesus’ face…..
